Overview

Give your truck a sleek recovery system that still turns heads with Rough Country's Hidden Winch Mount for '09-'13 Ford F150. This subtle yet innovative design capitalizes on the ample space behind the front bumper to mount your RC or other standard sized winch while keeping everything neat and tidy. A 1/4" plate steel winch mount secures easily and steadily into the frame horns without cutting or drilling. A unique Roller Fairlead Bracket mounts into the front license plate area for a flush design, leaving only the chrome fairlead and tow hook exposed. This kit is easy to install, suitable for one person to do by themselves. Unlike many winch mount solutions, the winch does not have to be installed to the mounting plate prior to installing on the vehicle, making the task that much easier. This kit also includes a solenoid relocation bracket and Grade 8 Hardware. Read More

Have the benefit of a winch mounted on the frame without all the ugliness of the entire thing poking out in front. Love it!!

Really happy with it! Put it on my 5.0 v8 2012 F-150. Easy install solid construction, fit my Snap-on 10,000 lb winch perfectly! I was really impressed with how everything lined up. Looks so much cleaner than having the winch on a front trailer hitch connection.
    Totally worth it!

I decided to buy a 12000# winch that I originally was going to mount on a removable trailer hitch mount. Instead, I seen the Rough Country mount for the F150 and thought it would be better to have the winch mounted permanently. This system is EXCELLENT and pretty easy to install. The instructions could have been better, but I was able to figure it out pretty easy. I had it installed in under 3 hours and tried it out the same day. I easily pulled out 13 various bush's and small trees that needed replacing. Easier than tugging on them. This is a well designed system for the Ford F150. I have a 5.4 liter. It WILL NOT work on the eco-boost due to the large turbo intercooler that is in the place with that engine. Note, I my 2010 model, I had to move the lower splash shield back about 2 inches. The Rough Country mount need those holes. I just redrilled two new holes in the frame and remounted the splash guard. Wiring was simple. I added the wireless remote. I would highly recommend this kit. I went with a Harbor Freight 12000 winch, which I got on sale with a coupon for $300.00. This winch is fine for the little bit of winching I plan on doing.

I have a 2014 F-150. Needed to remove bottom air deflector. Very easy installation then air deflector bolted right back on. I went with a Warn 10,000 pound winch. Fit perfect.

Excellent Job Rough Country! Great Quality, Great Value!

I ordered my Ford Hidden Mounting Plate, 9500 lb. winch, and a snatch block on a Sunday evening. I received the plate and winch on the following Wednesday and the snatch block was delivered on Thursday. I considered that to be fast fulfillment considering I paid for no special freight.

When I unboxed the Ford Hidden Mounting Plate I was immediately impressed by the quality and construction. It was hefty, the holes, edges, and welds were smooth, and the black powder coat was well laid on. The 9500 lb. winch also appeared to be well built and presented with a high-grade finish on all parts. Sitting on the bench, the clutch handle operation was silky and the spool turned smoothly.

The installation on my 2013 F-150 4X4 was intuitive and simple taking about an hour and a half to complete (without using air tools). I was amazed at how all the parts lined up so perfectly. I didn’t even have to jack up the truck; all underneath work was accomplished lying on a creeper. I didn’t use the furnished flag nuts because my truck already had long studs in the rear frame-horn holes for supporting a factory underside airfoil. In short, the process was indeed as easy as your web site video claimed. Once installed the operational test was flawless. Everything worked as it should the first time.

In summary I am greatly pleased with my purchase and recommend your company and the above products to anyone considering adding a winch to their F-150.

For what it’s worth... Before deciding to purchase your product I read a number of reviews and comments on several different Internet forums. I found some of your customers complaining that the winch clutch lever was difficult to operate. Some even revealed that they had taken a hammer to the problem. I suggest that you inform all new users that the mechanism works by engaging and disengaging gears that drive the spool. Using your hand to move the spool a few degrees in either direction while operating the lever allows the gears to mesh thus producing a smooth shift.

Thanks for the swift service and great value!
